The wind usually picks up in the late morning and strengthens until mid-afternoon. It’s ideal for a relaxing morning before facing the elements in the afternoon, and finally sipping on a caipirinha, of which Brazilians have the secret, while enjoying a beautiful sunset.

How to get there ?
To start your journey in Brazil, there are several choices, depending on the spots you want to visit.
For a stay in the region of Natal,
If on the other hand you are going to explore the Northeast, you will land
- Either in Fortaleza, where the closest spots are Cumbuco, Taiba, Pontal de Maceio
- Or in Sao Luis, which is a preferable option if you want to go more towards Atins
Most spots are then accessible by land. If you wish to travel from spot to spot, it is better to choose a rental car (especially if you are carrying your equipment). If you have chosen to visit only one spot, it will be more convenient to arrange transportation to the spot with your pousada.

- Mandatory vaccines: Yellow fever vaccination is required for travelers visiting certain areas of Brazil.
- Visa requirements: American and British nationals need a visa to enter Brazil. The cost for a tourist visa is $160 for Americans and £160 for Britons.

Money: The different kite spots in Brazil are often small fishing villages with few infrastructures, and notably few ATMs. I recommend withdrawing cash before setting off on your adventure, it will greatly simplify your life.
Car: When choosing to go to Brazil to explore the spots, it is wise to rent a car, even a small ordinary car. Transport between spots is expensive, and using public transportation like buses can quickly become a hassle with kite equipment. Renting a basic small car is around €13/day (suitable for 2 with a lot of kite gear), and if you are more numerous, opting for a 4×4 like a jeep costs €225-30/day, and the large pick-up truck costs €50/day. The wind tends to pick up in late morning or early afternoon at Brazilian spots. It can therefore be wise to make the trips between spots in the morning so as not to miss a session. Knowing that it is not very safe to drive at night.
Tides: Kite spots in Brazil are often dependent on the tide. A spot can be a paradise at low tide but a nightmare at high tide. Inform yourself before going kiting.
What are the best non kitesurfing activities ?
If Brazil is a huge country, with a million things to do outside of kiteboarding, it’s different in the kiteboarding area.
Kite spots, in small villages, often offer few activities outside of kiteboarding, apart from quad biking or horseback riding.
But going kiteboarding in Brazil is above all letting yourself be rocked by the slow pace of its small villages, with kite sessions and caipirinhas at sunset, to start again the next day.
