Sables Blancs: kite spot summary
The Sables Blancs spot is at the East entrance of the Quiberon peninsula, on the bay side (so on the left when entering).
To access it, you have to follow Plouharnel and then take the peninsula: the spot is on the left, before Penthièvre.
You have to follow the sign “plage des sables blancs” and continue a bit into the pine trees.
This spot is ideal when the wind comes from the East (all orientations from south-east to north-east), which usually gives side to side wind.
It is a great flat spot, quite vast and without restrictions, where you can often stand for a long time.
Attention:
– You can only navigate there from mid-tide (until high tide) to have enough water.
– There are oyster parks everywhere, so you should not step on them or wear shoes.
– During high tides, there can be a lot of fishermen on site!
There are campsites near the spot, which can be convenient for some.
Recommended kite size and wind: It’s difficult to generalize, it really depends on the day. In summer, a 12m kite is often recommended.
