Diamond Head: kite spot summary
The Diamond Head spot is located at the extreme north of the island of Ré.
It is a surfing spot at the base (and therefore waves) at the foot of the Phare des Baleines, near the spots of Petit Bec and Pointe du Lizay (other wave spots on the island of Ré).
It is ideal for kiting in west wind. However, be careful because in the summer, it is only allowed from 6:30 pm.
At low tide, the spot is flatter, but as the tide rises, beautiful ramps form to sometimes create super hollow lefts!
It is a spot for experienced surfers.

What is the best period to go kitesurfing toDiamond Head?
All year round offers beautiful conditions for kitesurfing at the Diamond Head spot. However, you need to gear up to ride in the winter. You need at least a 4/3 wetsuit with gloves and booties. A neoprene beanie wouldn’t hurt either.
