Le Men Du: kite spot summary
The Men Du is the spot of Carnac, actually located between Carnac Plage and La Trinité. It is a spot totally forbidden in the summer because of the crowd (except possibly late at night).
This Breton spot forms a bay of about 700m by 500m, ideal and safe for learning. It is ideal to sail there at mid-tide: completely flat and protected, and you can touch the bottom everywhere. At high tide, there is almost no beach left and at low tide, there may no longer be any water depending on the tidal coefficients.
The Men Du spot works best with a South-East to South wind.
Recommended kite size and wind: It is difficult to generalize, it really depends on the day. In the summer, a 12m kite is often recommended. The rest of the time, it is rather the 9/10m kites that are used, with a 7m for strong winds.

What is the best period to go kitesurfing toLe Men Du?
The best time for kitesurfing at Men Du, in my opinion, is during the autumn. It is the time when the first depressions arrive with their nice gusts of wind. Spring is also a pleasant time for kiting, however, in the summer, it is forbidden to practice at this spot!
