Les crevettes: kite spot summary
The spot of Crevettes is also at the entrance of the Quiberon peninsula, on the west side, to the right when entering. To access it, you have to follow Plouharnel, enter the peninsula, and shortly after the big turn and the railway tracks, take a path that goes to the right between the pine trees, following the sign “Mane Guen”.
Like Kerhilio and Sainte Barbe, the spot of Crevettes is a surf spot: often flat in the summer (or small waves), the waves can become significant the rest of the time.
It will still always be smaller than at Kerhilio or Sainte Barbe and therefore more suitable for “beginners” in waveriding.
The spot mainly works with a southwest to south wind, although it is navigable with a west wind (but the waves will often be a little less clean).
Like the surrounding beaches, there is a lot of space at low tide, it is also an ideal spot for mountainboarding or land sailing, however at high tide it is significantly reduced.
Be careful in the summer, it can quickly become crowded with swimmers and amateur surfers.
Recommended kite size and wind: It is difficult to generalize, it really depends on the day. In summer, a 12m kite is often recommended. The rest of the time, it is more likely the 9/10m kites that are used, with a 7m for strong winds.
