Sainte Barbe: kite spot summary
Sainte Barbe is one of the most consistent kite spots in Brittany in terms of swell, sometimes the waves are really big. It is therefore a spot for experienced kite surfers.
The spot is located just below Kerhilio, less than 1 km away towards Quiberon.
Surfers are also present here, so it is important to know how to avoid them and respect them.
At high tide, the shore break can be quite powerful and the space on the beach is significantly reduced.
It works really well with north-west and west winds. It also works with south-east winds, but the waves will be smaller.
Recommended kite size and wind: It is difficult to generalize, it really depends on the day. In summer, a 12m kite is often recommended. The rest of the time, it is usually the 9/10m kites that are used, with a 7m for stronger winds.
