Kitesurf at Babaomby

The Babaomby spot is located at the extreme North of Madagascar, between the Indian Ocean and the Mozambique Channel.

The spot is known for its lagoon, the emerald sea, renowned as one of the most beautiful in the world. It experiences fairly strong winds (20 to 35 knots) blowing from April to mid-November almost every day.

The emerald sea forms a lagoon of over 3 km long, perfect for navigation. The water is choppy with a flat area at the northern end of the lagoon (at low tide and high tides).

There are also very beautiful waves on the reef. (for information, one can have security from schools // inquire on site).

It’s a spot to visit at least once in a lifetime! The white sandy beaches, turquoise sea, and marine life make the scenery quite incredible. The atmosphere is full of kiteboarding, nature, and friendliness.

You can reach the spot by car from Diego Suarez airport (Antsiranana) to Ramana (40 minutes by car), then by boat (45 minutes). Ask your hotel in Babaomby, often they can pick you up (for a fee), which is simpler than renting a car just for a trip.

It is ideal to stay directly at the spot, in one of the hotels there.
