Mui Ne: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Mui Ne is the main spot in Vietnam, located on the East / South-East coast, about a 5-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh. It has 5km of beach facing the South China Sea.
From November to April, the wind is generally consistent (25/35 knots), beginners are advised to sail in the morning (15/25 knots) for more peace.
There are 2 main spots, one below the other. There are plenty of kite schools and facilities, it’s not difficult to find information on site.
There can be a lot of people at the spot during high season. If you go there to sail, check the tides in advance: sometimes there is no beach at all, which makes takeoff and landing difficult.
