Maui Kitebeach: kite spot summary
Located on the island of Maui, Kitebeach benefits from a constant acceleration of wind thanks to the shape of the island (peanut-shaped). While Maui is undoubtedly the windsurfing capital, Kitebeach is exclusively for kiters, on a relatively flat and vast body of water. That being said, it is a fairly versatile spot as you can also find some forgiving waves there, just like at Naish Beach and Kanaha Beach, which stretch along the coast to the East. Pros: very consistent wind – versatile spot – boardshort sailing – beautiful island Cons: next to the airport Tips:
– Maui is served by Kahului Airport, accessible by direct flights from California and from Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii.
– If you like thrills and big waves, go check out Jaws!
– Park at Kanaha Beach: the spot is not far away on foot.
