Miquelon: kite spot summary
Miquelon is one of the two main islands in the archipelago of Saint Pierre and Miquelon, the larger of the two (40 km from north to south). The island is sparsely populated (around 700 people, with the majority of the population living in St Pierre).
It only takes about 10 minutes to go from one spot to another, depending on the conditions, which are quite versatile: there are wave zones on the ocean side, but also large flat lagoons.
The best months to go there are in the summer, between July and September. Otherwise, it can be really cold (but this allows you to do snowkiting).
This place is still undeveloped in terms of kiteboarding, the spots are not crowded and it is a good destination for nature lovers.
In terms of kite size, it is better to take between 9 and 12, with a smaller one being useful in case of strong winds. The wind is comparable to our Atlantic coasts, a consistent and quite cold wind.
