Kitesurf at Ilha do Guajiru

Close to the village of Itarema in the north of Fortaleza, the kite spot of Ilha Do Guajiru is also called “the Flat Water Sea”. It is like a large inlet: the spot is protected by a long sand dune.

Accommodations directly overlook the spot, a huge flat lagoon.

At low tide, there is not enough water, but there is plenty of wind to kite the rest of the time.

It is a very peaceful place, sheltered from the hustle and bustle. Ideal for relaxing and kiting to the fullest. Some spend their entire holidays there, while others just make a stopover. It all depends on the type of trip you are considering.

There are nice downwinds in the area, both to the north and south. Feel free to inquire locally. It is ideal to combine with other kite spots in Brazil, like Icarai or Jeri.
