Kitesurf at Paracuru

The kite spot of Paracuru is located 100 kms North of Fortaleza, North of Taiba.

The kite spot of Paracuru is a bit off from the city. You have to take a small road that passes through the dunes with some slightly sandy passages. Just get some speed and don’t stop.

The spot itself is nice. There is a restaurant, kite clubs, small umbrellas to shelter from the sun, and even protections to protect the car from the sun. Even though there are quite a few people, the spot is large enough so you still have enough space.

The spot looks like a mini-bay, which creates a sort of lagoon at low tide with almost flat water (not really a freestyle spot!). A little further out, there are waves with a very accessible level, which come into the mini-bay at high tide.

Paracuru may not be a spot where you would stay for weeks, but on a road trip, it can be a nice 3/4 day stop.

It is a spot known for its waves (at low tide the spot becomes flatter, but at high tide the waves roll cleanly).

This spot is suitable for intermediates and advanced riders who want to improve. However, it is not really ideal for beginners.

There are over 20kms of pristine beach in this area, which remains very wild, on the Brazilian coast.
