Tatajuba: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Tatajuba is a kite spot in the Brazilian Northeast, which is starting to become known, just 25km from Jericoacoara (and 20km south of Camocim).
To get there from Fortaleza, you can take the bus to Jijoca and then a 4×4 to cross the dunes, or request a direct transfer by 4×4 from the airport (more expensive but faster and more comfortable).
The Tatajuba spot is similar to Jeri in terms of wind: a season from July to January, with strong wind (>30 knots most of the time). The scenery is also similar to other spots in the region: abundant dunes, lagoons, flat water, and some waves.
The uniqueness of Tatajuba is that the spot is located at the mouth of a river, allowing for kiteboarding in a sort of immense flat lagoon. Even at high tide, there are places where you can stand.
Tatajuba is an authentic and very calm village, perfect for those seeking peace and tranquility. The beaches are immense and deserted, with nature all around. For those looking for nightlife, Jeri is only a short drive away.
In terms of quiver, you’ll typically need a 6/7 and 8/9, like the neighboring spots.
