Saint François: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Saint Francois (located in the southeast of the island, 25 minutes from Sainte Anne, on Grande Terre in Guadeloupe) is a spot reserved for experienced kiters, unless you are supervised (schools often take their students out to sea for drop-offs). You need to be able to ride upwind and be autonomous to navigate there alone.
The place is beautiful: coconut trees, a small white sandy beach, and translucent water.
However, it’s better to ride a little further out to sea to avoid weaving between swimmers and boats on each trip back and forth. Don’t hesitate to check with the local schools to have them take you out to sea at the same time as their students. As soon as you move away from the shore, the water is perfect, and the setting is magical!
