La feuillère: kite spot summary
The kite spot at La Feuillère is located near Capesterre, in the southeast of Marie Galante. It is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island.
The spot looks like a beautiful lagoon with turquoise waters, where the wind comes in sideshore. The beach is quite long (at least 1km) and the lagoon is protected by a coral reef.
The water conditions can range from flat to choppy depending on the conditions. At times, there are nice waves for more experienced riders (you need to know the spot well).
The beach is beautiful and if you come with your family, it is ideal for relaxing, swimming, having lunch… There are never many people: Marie Galante is still a very quiet place.
Marie Galante is a must-visit on your kite trip in Guadeloupe, as the island is easily accessible by ferry.
Some extra tips:
– Make sure to bring larger kite sizes (10/12 +) as even though it can sometimes be windy, the trade winds generally bring a steady but light breeze.
– Watch out for patches in the lagoon, avoid the dark spots.
– Beware of the coconut trees on the beach which can make takeoff tricky (and watch out for falling coconuts!).
