Punta Chame: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Punta Chame is located about 1h30 south of Panama City, the capital. The place is still relatively unknown and has been developing as a kite destination for a short time. This spot has already hosted stages of the freestyle world championship.
Punta Chame is located on a small peninsula overlooking the Pacific Ocean: the panorama is incredible, between the sea and the mountains. The spot is very vast, with plenty of space for take-off and sailing.
The spot is flat at low tide and ideal for learning, but can be a bit chaotic when the wind blows strong and the sea rises (some serious ramps form).
The village, mainly inhabited by fishermen (and consisting of many second homes), is charming.
NB: Car rental is recommended to be independent and explore the surroundings.
