Isla Blanca: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Isla Blanca is an island in Mexico, 25 minutes north of Cancun, surrounded by a large lagoon.
The spot is windier than elsewhere in Mexico (20 to 30 knots when it blows) but remains perfect for beginners as well as experienced kiters.
There are several different spots, the most well-known being the Riviera Maya spot. It is an ideal spot for beginners due to its large secure lagoon.
The island is worth a visit and deserves to be explored for several days to enjoy its diversity in terms of flora and marine life. You can either come to kite for a few days in the middle of a family trip, or make a stop and combine it with other spots in the area (Holbox, Cozumel… etc).
