Ready to go for the big downwind adventure in Brazil?

Attention, to embark on such a trip, an intermediate level in kite is required.

That is to say, be completely autonomous, know how to go upwind and downwind, be able to navigate toeside on both sides. The idea is to be able to change support during navigation, as 40km with support on one leg can be tiring.

For the start of this downwind, Freeride Kitesurf invites you to Cumbuco, a 30-minute drive from Fortaleza.

• Day 1: Transfer from Cumbuco to Taiba, kite session at the Taiba ocean spot before heading downwind to Guajiru (50km)
• Day 2: downwind between Guajiru and Icarai, about 55km
• Day 3: discovery of the spots in Icarai, with the downwind to Moitas, and the kitesurf session on the Patos lagoon
• Day 4: downwind from Icarai towards Ilha do Guajiru, a distance of about 30km
• Day 5: departure from Ilha do Guajiru to reach Jericoacoara, a long downwind of 60km
• Day 6: kite session downwind to Guriu, then return by land to Jericoacoara to enjoy the evening
• Day 7: 19km downwind to Tatajuba, and return to Jeri in the afternoon to feel the festive vibe of the village one last time
• Day 8: return transfer to Cumbuco or to Fortaleza airport

Important information

During this type of trip, equipment repair can be complicated. It is better to bring at least 2 kites, with 2 bars, as well as some spare parts, especially for board accessories.

Be sure to bring something to protect yourself from the sun, as you will spend many hours in the water in a region where the sun is strong. Each group is accompanied by one or two guides in the water during the downwinds to guide and ensure the group’s safety.

During this time, the 4×4 vehicle will ensure maximum safety on land. The guide on land will therefore always be available, except when he has to bypass certain obstacles (river mouths, mangroves…).
