Your adventure in a glimpse
Ready to progress in kite surfing on the best wave spots in Brazil? This downwind organized by Freeride Kitesurf is a compilation of the best wave spots in the state of Ceara.
The side shore conditions allow for a great downwind while having an ideal orientation for kite surfing. It’s perfect for progression, especially with a coach who follows you throughout the trip.
Before the kite surfing sessions, there will be theoretical classes to put into practice in the afternoons, with video analysis of the participants’ performances, in order to always be able to improve and progress every day of the adventure.
- Days 1 to 3: Transfer from Fortaleza to Taiba, and first sessions at the Taiba surf spot.
- Days 4 and 5: first 15km downwind between Taiba and Paracuru, then kite surfing sessions in Paracuru.
- Day 6: 35km downwind between Paracuru and Guajiru.
- Day 7: short downwind during the day to test the Emboaca spot, then return to Guajiru in the evening to spend the night.
- Day 8: long 55km downwind between Guajiru and Icarai.
- Day 9: last day of kite surfing at the Icarai wave spot.
- Day 10: transfer back to Fortaleza airport.
Important Information
During this kind of trip, equipment repair can be complicated. It is best to bring at least 2 kites, with 2 bars, as well as some spare parts, especially for board accessories.
Make sure to bring sun protection, as you will be spending many hours in the water in a region where the sun is strong.
Each group is accompanied by one or two guides in the water during the downwinds to guide and ensure the group’s safety. Meanwhile, the 4×4 vehicle will ensure maximum safety on land. The guide on land will always be available, except when having to navigate certain obstacles (river mouths, mangroves…).

This trip is focused on progression, with a pro rider who will coach you to improve your surfkite technique. Daily theoretical classes are organized, with video analysis of your performances from the previous days. It’s ideal for putting actionable advice into practice, and progressing more and more each day.
