Downwind kitesurf: wild north of Brazil

This downwind organized by Freeride Kitesurf is the ultimate kite adventure in Brazil, taking you far from the beaten path to the wildest spots on the Brazilian coast.

You will discover isolated beaches while crossing one of the largest deltas in America, and you will end your journey with unique sessions in the ephemeral lagoons of Lençois.

• Day 1: Transfer from Cumbuco to Barra Grande by 4×4
• Day 2: Kitesurf session in Barra Grande, and downwind to Lagoa do Mangue.
• Day 3: Downwind between Barra Grande and Praia de Atalaia with a kite session in Macapa in the afternoon.
• Day 4: Discovery of Macapa and kitesurf session at the Macapa spot.
• Day 5: Departure from Macapa with a downwind to Luis Correira, a long beach that serves as a starting point for many downwinds in the Parnaiba delta.
• Day 6: Departure from Pedra do Sal (near Luis Correira) downwind to Ilha dos Poldros
• Day 7: Downwind from Ilha dos Poldros to Ilha Caju
• Day 8: Downwind between Ilha Caju and Tutoia
• Day 9: Downwind between Tutoia and Atins
• Day 10: Downwind to Rio Negro to end the afternoon with a kitesurf session in Lençois Maranhenses National Park.
• Day 11: Day in Atins, and kite session at the village spot
• Day 12: Return to Lençois by downwind for a final session in the park’s lagoons Day 13: Return to Fortaleza

Important Information

During this type of trip, equipment repair can be complicated. It is better to bring at least 2 kites, with 2 bars, as well as some spare parts, especially for board accessories. Be sure to bring sun protection, as you will be spending many hours in the water in a region where the sun is strong. Each group is accompanied by one or two guides in the water during the downwinds to guide and ensure the group’s safety. During this time, the 4×4 will provide maximum security on land. The guide on land will therefore always be available, except when he has to navigate certain obstacles (estuaries, mangroves…).
