Alacati: kite spot summary
Alaçati is located on the west coast of Turkey, across from Greece. The spot is located less than 1 hour from Izmir.
It is a picturesque village that has become quite touristy in recent years and therefore offers all kinds of nice little restaurants.
As for the spot, it is a very beautiful protected bay, located at the southern tip of the Çesme peninsula. The water is flat, the sea is blue, and the wind is consistent. The bay is shaped like a U, and the windsurfing and kite zones are well defined: you have to go to the other side of the bay (by car or on foot) to kite. The area is large and you have about 400m of shallow water, so it is ideal for practicing your first turns.
If the spot is too crowded (especially in the summer), you can go to Urla less than an hour to the north to sail in similar conditions.
