Balistra: kite spot summary
The Balistra spot is located on the East side of Corsica, 15 minutes north of Bonifacio and above the bay of Santa Manza. The spot is indicated from the main road. Access to the spot is a bit chaotic (2 km of rough track). A beach of white sand and turquoise sea awaits you: the beauty of the beach attracts a lot of people in the summer. The beach is quite large, and overlooks a fairly safe bay. It is a preserved and fairly wild spot in the average season. The wind often comes in side on (when it works). In addition to the “classic” spot, you will find just behind the beach a kind of shallow, windy pond for beginners (most courses are given there). You can touch the bottom everywhere, the spot is very secure and flat. It’s a good spot if you’re on a family vacation and want to mix kite sessions, beaches, and walks. NB: Do not sail along the beach, there are often lots of swimmers! There is also a parking lot right in front of the beach for parking.
