Green Island: kite spot summary
The island of Green Island is located to the east of Antigua, very close to its shores. It closes off Nonsuch Bay and is accessible by boat in just a few minutes.
Measuring just under 1 kilometer in length, it offers beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water.
It is a perfect spot for kiteboarding in Antigua and Barbuda, as the wind funnels between the island and the bay, providing consistent wind. One can easily launch their kite on a small sandy beach to the north, and then enjoy the vastness of the bay and the coral reef that protects it.
There is flat water (sometimes choppy depending on the wind), and a large almost enclosed lagoon. Be aware that there are some depths in certain areas, so it is ideal for beginners to be accompanied by a boat.
It is worth noting that the island is also a great site for snorkeling.
