Why kitesurfing in Aruba is a good choice ?
Aruba is a South Caribbean island, located a few kilometers off the coast of Venezuela. It belongs to the Netherlands. The setting is magnificent: turquoise lagoons, white sand beaches, coconut palms… and the locals are lovely. However, it is quite an expensive destination: mostly luxury hotels. For kiting, there are many possibilities to sail even if it is not necessarily the best destination for a “100% all-out kiting” trip. Aruba is more a destination for kiters who want to go with their family, take a sunny break during the winter, enjoy the beaches and warm water, and incidentally, fit in a few kiting sessions.
Best period and spots to kite in Aruba
The kite spots in Aruba are Fishermans huts in the north of the island, Barcadera located on the west coast, and Boca Grandi in the South. The kitesurfing spots on the island of Aruba are not really suitable for beginners, it is better to be already autonomous, unless taking lessons with a school. Indeed, there are sometimes off shore conditions, as well as numerous boats at anchor. Best season (for kiting): From December to September (almost all year round actually)
