Why kitesurfing in Namibia is a good choice ?
Namibia is a “secret” destination, still very little frequented. But the conditions for kite are great!
We’ve all heard about this world speed record story in the Namibian “Speed Strip”, but few of us have tried the experience… And yet…
The landscapes are breathtaking: especially the Namib desert, arid and immense, overlooking the sea. It’s an ideal trip for adventurers or lovers of adventure and nature.
There are some facilities around the main spots, but don’t expect to find the atmosphere of Cumbuco (Brazil) there!
Best period and spots to kite in Namibia
The most popular (although very quiet) kite spot is located in Walvis Bay, near Swakopmund (30km away), a 5-hour drive from the airport, and a true paradise for flamingos, pelicans, dolphins, whales and seals.
It’s a wild place between desert and ocean, in short, a magical place.
Best kite season: September to January.
