Why kitesurfing in Seychelles is a good choice ?

In the heart of the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Tanzania, the Seychelles archipelago is part of those paradisiacal destinations well known to newlyweds on honeymoons but not yet too popular for kitesurfing.

And this is no coincidence: while the islands all offer beautiful beaches lined with coconut trees overlooking warm, turquoise lagoons, the Southeast wind, which cools the archipelago from June to September, is quite light and not always reliable.

As a result, if you want to do nothing but kitesurf 24/7, it might not be the best destination.

On the other hand, if your ideal vacation is made of kitesurfing but mainly sun and relaxation (with family, for example), and if you have a bit of a budget, you might want to consider it.

Best period and spots to kite in Seychelles

Mahé and La Digue, two islands where kitesurfing has already made its appearance. (See the spot descriptions for more information). In any case, you will find spots in a lagoon of translucent water, with generally rather light wind, so it is better to plan for large sails.

If you go to the Seychelles for a kite trip, you will see that it is not crowded, the spots are far from being saturated.

Best season (for kiting): from July to September.

The marine life is also very rich, so it is a good opportunity to try diving, or simply spend time in the water with mask and snorkel.
