The most famous spot is Tarifa, but there are many others.

Why kitesurfing in Spain is a good choice ?
Spain is a country with a very large coastline. Therefore, one might think that there is good potential for kitesurfing!
Highly accessible, it’s an ideal destination full of sunshine, and Spanish ambiance. Beyond kitesurfing, there’s no time for boredom, there are at least a million things to do, from cultural visits, gastronomy to nightlife.
While two regions are often mentioned for kitesurfing, there are in fact countless spots in Spain.
Best period and spots to kite in Spain
In Spain, two main areas are often spoken of for kiting: Tarifa (Los Lances, Las Dunas, Valdevaqueros, Hurricane) at the extreme south of the country, and Rosas (see the spot of Rosas and Pals), 30kms from the French border, overlooking the Mediterranean. The main reasons are the reliability of the wind in these regions, and their accessibility from France.
The Rosas Region Rosas is an ideal destination for those who want to avoid long journeys or too expensive trips. There is the possibility of going on a road trip from France to discover a bit of the country if you have the time. Proximity to Barcelona (1h30 to the south) and to the French spots of Leucate and co;
The Tarifa Region The Tarifa region is one of the most renowned and well-known in Europe, due to the strength and wind stats, the diversity of spots and the kite industry that has developed there (many pro kiters are also domiciled there).
Apart from these two major spots, there are plenty of possibilities. All along the east coast of Spain, from the Ebre delta to Malaga. There are many spots in the Mediterranean that mainly operate under a well-established thermal regime thanks to the heat that prevails in the summer.
On the north coast, in Galicia, even if the wind statistics are less generous, the region offers incredible possibilities for an adventure kite trip. This very wild region is absolutely beautiful, and when the conditions are right, the potential is huge.

Our best advices to travelers
How to get there ?
To go to Tarifa, you have to take a plane to Seville before heading to Tarifa by car or transportation.
For other regions, Spain is generally well served by air transport (less so by rail transport…).

Additional tips
Spain is a country that is perfect for a road trip. It is ideal for discovering all the spots in a region and immersing oneself in the atmosphere.
For Tarifa, it is better to rent a car as there are several spots around the city and one must be able to adapt to the conditions. However, it is difficult to park there, especially during the high season, which I do not recommend.
What are the best non kitesurfing activities ?
Outside of kitesurfing, Spain is a country very rich culturally, so there are thousands of things to do.
Tarifa is already a beautiful gateway to all the cities in Andalusia that you must absolutely go see.
On the Mediterranean east coast, it is important to choose well in order not to end up in a big, concrete-filled resort, but there are still some nice beaches.
On the north side, it’s nature, and it’s wild, we will mainly be hiking, and doing outdoor activities.
