Why kitesurfing in Thailand is a good choice ?
Thailand is a great destination for family vacations, or if you’re craving a change of scenery: you can alternate between kite sessions at the main spot in Hua Hin and country tours.
The wind is steady but light in Thailand: most of the time, we sail in 12/14m.
In the end, it’s a perfect destination for kiting and relaxing (warm sea, turquoise water, lounging…). Plus, it’s a very affordable country: you can eat there for 1 or 2 € per day and hotel prices are very affordable.
Best period and spots to kite in Thailand
If there are plenty of things to do, see and visit, kite spots are quite limited: Hua Hin, south west of Bangkok (about 250 kms away by road) which is the main and most frequented spot, and Pranburi, not far from there, which also offers great conditions.
You could possibly kite on the islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Samui, but they are better known for their “full moon parties”…
Best season for kiting: December to April.

Bargaining is common in markets and some shops, but it is important to always do it with respect and a smile.
What are the best non kitesurfing activities ?
Thailand is not the country to go for a 100% kite stay. People rather go there for all the tourist activities that can be found, even if it means just stopping by the kite spot when you are in the area.
So, there are a million things to do in Thailand before kiteboarding.
