Lancelin: kite spot summary
Located 1.5 hours north of Perth, Lancelin is a fairly isolated and versatile spot: it is a bay protected by a reef about 500 meters from the coast.
In the bay, the water is relatively flat and shallow for a good distance (150 meters), making it ideal for freestyle and all levels.
On the reef, there are four peaks reserved for experts. From South to North: Main Break, Passage Shallows, Hole in the Wall, and South Passage (the cleanest peak of the four).
Pros: versatile spot – world-class waves (reef) – low crowds – spot equipped with showers + toilets
Cons: isolation (for those who don’t like it)
Note: The risk of sharks is obviously not zero, although attacks remain very rare in this region of Australia.
