Le Touquet: kite spot summary
The Touquet spot is one of the most popular among Parisians because it is easily accessible from the capital (about 2.5 hours). It is located between Boulogne to the north and Berck to the south. This spot quickly gets crowded, especially in the summer. To kite on the beach side, the wind must be between southwest and northwest. However, when it is northeast or east (offshore), you must go to the Canche River, provided there is water. If the wind is south, you can go to the south base, which has showers and equipment available. At high tide, there is almost no beach, which can quickly become difficult. You need to plan your kiting sessions according to the tides. Recommended kite size: It’s difficult to generalize. You should check the forecast before going. In winter, it’s usually 7/9 – In summer, it’s 10+.

What is the best period to go kitesurfing toLe Touquet?
We kite all year round in Le Touquet, except for the most chilly. The water becomes quite cold in winter, but we still see kite surfers in the water when the wind is blowing. Otherwise, we have to wait for the warmer weather in April for most of them to get back in the water.
