Low Bay: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Low Bay, also known as 11 miles Beach, is located all the way to the west of Barbuda.
It is a very long and narrow strip of sand that separates the Caribbean Sea from a large inner lagoon. The configuration of the spot is quite incredible.
You can kite on both sides of the beach:
– on the sea side: the wind is offshore and the spot is ultra flat
– or on the closed side, the wind is onshore and the spot is flat to choppy
The kite spot of Low Bay is amazing and very uncrowded: a few boats at anchor, and very few hotels on the beach. It is a true paradise.
It is worth mentioning that the island is also a great site for snorkeling.
The best way to access it is by sailboat, and anchor in the bay for several days. But you can also go there for the day from Antigua by taking the ferry.
