The kite spot of Mayreau is close to Union Island and covers no more than 4 square kilometers. Yet it boasts 2 of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean: Saline Bay and Salt Whistle Bay.
The place is magical and ideal for both kiteboarding and enjoying a vacation.
Salt Whistle Bay forms an isthmus:
– On one side, there is a protected beach with boats at anchor, the spot is ideal for experienced kiters only as there are many obstacles.
– On the other side, there is a shallow lagoon, ideal for beginners.
There are also some waves on the reef for those who are skilled.
The village of Mayreau (Old Wall) is very pretty and worth a visit during a stroll.
Sailboats can anchor at Salt Whistle Bay. Alternatively, one can take a taxi boat to Mayreau for a day trip from the neighboring islands.
