Moledo: kite spot summary
Moledo is a kitesurf spot in the north of Portugal, 1 hour from Porto. Easy to access, it is in a charming small village, with a large beach just below the mouth of the Rio Minho.
Moledo beach is known for its beauty with its golden sand, and the wild setting that surrounds it: a landscape of green dunes, pine forests, and the mountain of Monte de Santa Tecla, located on the other side of the border with Spain.
Moledo is appreciated for its quality of life, its nature, and above all… its wind! The wind blows regularly between 20 and 30 knots, to delight all kitesurfing enthusiasts and other water sports lovers.
The spot is located on the large beach of Moledo. You can sail on the ocean, so it is a good spot for waves for surfkite enthusiasts looking for clean rolling waves.
For beginners and those looking for spots sheltered from the waves, the island of Insua provides protection against the swell, and allows for flat water nearby.
On site, apart from kitesurfing, there are also many activities to do to visit the region.
In short, it is a great destination for a kitesurfing holiday off the beaten track.
