Nanga Bay: kite spot summary
Located in the southern part of Shark Bay on the west coast of Australia (about a 10-hour drive north of Perth), Nanga Bay is an ideal spot for freestyle, in a fairly wild environment.
With few visitors, consistent wind, and flat water… in short, it’s perfect for trying to land your tricks.
It is possible to set up camp right in front of the spot, which will surely appeal to the more adventurous among us! However, isolation becomes a disadvantage when it comes to getting your kite repaired, for example…
Pros: very reliable wind – flat and shallow water – few visitors
Cons: isolation (which can also be an advantage for some)
Some additional information:
Register at the Denham tourist office (a few kilometers to the north) if you plan on wild camping on the peninsula.
Don’t be afraid to spot a few small sharks while out on the water! The risk is obviously not zero, although attacks remain rare.
