Peniche: kite spot summary
In Portugal, Praia Do Baleal (in Peniche) is a fairly safe spot for waves, but reserved for intermediate and advanced kiters.
The beach is huge and surfers tend to gather at the end of the bay, leaving plenty of space to navigate. When it’s not too big, it’s a good spot to progress in the waves. But be careful of the shorebreak, which can be a bit violent.
Praia do Baleal is a strategic location for kiteboarding (and surfing): all spots in the region are very accessible, within a 20 km radius. So you can stay there and move from one spot to another by car according to the conditions.
