Point Moore: kite spot summary
Point Moore is one of the spots in Geraldton, north of Perth (about 1 hour by plane or 4/5 hours by car) on the West Coast of Australia.
The main attraction of Point Moore is the waves, although freeride enthusiasts will also find space to have fun.
Right in front of the small red and white lighthouse, there is a first peak, relatively gentle, to start your session: Kiddies Corner.
And 300 meters further north, there is another peak for waveriding experts, Hell’s Gate: a very powerful left that breaks on a shallow reef.
Pros: versatile spot – world class waves (reef) – spot equipped with showers + toilets
Cons: risks related to sharks – isolation – insects and critters
Note:
– There are other spots in Geraldton, including Sunsets, a good beach break, and St Georges which offers flat conditions.
– The risk related to sharks is obviously not zero, although attacks remain rare.
