Rosas: kite spot summary
The kite spot in Rosas is located just a few kilometers from the Franco-Spanish border, 1h30 north of Barcelona.
The spot offers great conditions regardless of the time of year:
– From June to September, there is a side-on thermal wind that provides ideal conditions for freeride and freestyle;
– The rest of the year, there is the tramontane wind that blows sideshore and sometimes creates nice little ramps.
Rosas is a safe spot: no reef, no current. However, be careful of the crowds in the summer.
The area around Rosas is a protected natural reserve in Spain, so it is important to respect the takeoff zones. There are several spots close to each other, some of which may not have free access (such as San Pere Pescadore).
