Soma Bay: kite spot summary
Soma Bay is a spot located just above Safaga, and 45kms South of Hurghada (international airport).
Soma Bay offers a very beautiful setting: the Red Sea and the mountains in the background. It is a fairly luxurious destination, with beautiful hotels. There is also one of the most beautiful golf courses in Egypt in Soma Bay, for those who like to mix kiteboarding and golf.
In terms of kiteboarding, the bay is just ideal: the spot is completely flat, well windy, and even if the wind blows offshore, the water is shallow and there are plenty of boats to pick you up if needed.
In short, a great Egyptian kiteboarding destination to progress in peace and relax on beautiful white sandy beaches. It is ideal for a kite trip of one week or 10 days.
