Tulum: kite spot summary
The Mexican kite spot of Tulum is a beautiful beach with white sand lined with palm trees, located 1 hour south of Cancun (and 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen).
The wind generally blows between 15 and 25 knots, with wind on average 1 day out of 2, leaving time to explore the surroundings, which are a must-see.
In Tulum, the atmosphere is quite natural and still quite wild (few people on the beach and a large empty area to take off). The setting is incredible with the Mayan temples in the background.
Some additional information: – It is better not to venture onto the reef, which is shallow in places – There may be big chop depending on the wind conditions.
