El Yaque: kite spot summary
The kite spot of El Yaque – Margarita is an excellent freeride spot.
Located in the south of Margarita Island, Venezuela, the wind blows side on and intensifies throughout the day: beginners can progress in the morning and more experienced riders can hit the water in the afternoon. Many teams come here to train or shoot: the scenery is quite incredible!
The kite area is quite narrow, but it is possible to cross it to go further out and enjoy more space. This is why beginners should be supervised.
There is the possibility to be dropped off by boat at Kitebeach (only accessible by boat), an ultra flat spot where the wind is sideshore, allowing for downwind rides back to El Yaque (2.5 km downwind).
