Talamone is a charming destination 2 hours north of Rome. A Tuscan atmosphere reigns in this bay, preserved from mass tourism. At the tip of the bay stands a charming stone village built on a rocky hill dominated by an ancient fort.

The spot works in thermal winds from June to September. The wind usually picks up around 1-2pm, leaving the morning for sightseeing or relaxation. A sandy beach, without sea urchins or coral, swimmers or boats. The bay is shallow, you can walk very far which makes it easy for beginners to learn. The tip of the bay protects the water from waves, making freestylers happy.

As for the atmosphere, the Italian change of scenery is guaranteed. Numerous pizzerias, shops, boutiques, and ice cream parlors will quickly make you forget about your daily routine.

Schools and accommodation A camping/parking is located by the beach and for only 5 euros you can sleep with your campervan or camping car right by the water. The kite school offers showers and toilets for a small fee. Other campsites line the bay and offer bungalows on the hillside overlooking the bay. For those looking for more comfort, small hotels are available in the villages of Talamone and Fonteblanda.

In terms of schools, for beginners who want to learn Kitesurfing, 3 schools coexist at the spot. For French speakers, Chapatte, a Swiss expatriate for the summers, is one of the three schools “Le Lykan”. He will be happy to welcome you and teach you the basics of Kitesurfing.
