Viganj: kite spot summary
The kite spot of Viganj is located on the Peljesac peninsula, in the south of Croatia.
The easiest way to access it is to land in Dubrovnik and rent a car (about 2 hours). But it can be interesting to land in Split or even Zagreb in terms of price. In this case, you will need to take a ferry to Ploce to reach the Peljesac peninsula.
It is a popular destination for windsurfers, and kiteboarding is gradually developing there.
The spot is relatively flat with a side onshore wind, and choppy conditions can arise depending on the wind strength. However, it is not ideal for beginners as the launch is complicated (almost no beach, and quickly crowded, especially in summer).
From Vinganj, you can easily take a boat to Korcula, a small fortified town on the opposite island (also named Korcula) worth visiting.
Otherwise, Peljesac is renowned for its vineyards: if you can’t kite, you can always enjoy some good wines!
